This is the news report from september 2008 when i first saw the work of Charlotte Hughes-Martin. She has been another of my influences this term as i found that milk bottles had a great link to my work and i really enjoy etching onto them.

An Interview with Debbie Smyth, who has been one of my main influences in the past term, using her way of working has got me back interested in drawing in a new way, it makes me think about other ways i can experiment with drawing in the future.
This is a short film of the 2010 glass biennale held at the Ruskin Glass Centre in Stourbridge. It was here in 2008 that i first saw work by Charlotte Hughes-Martin i had never really looked at or thought about using glass before this and this term i finally decided that i should give it a go too.
This film is again of Rachel Whiteread, in this film she talks about her approach to drawing. Drawing is something i find quite difficult to do i like to and i am going to look into different ways of drawing for the future.
Rachel Whiteread is an artist that i have been inspired by in this short video she talks about the way that she works and the artwork place. I find that by watching these videos of artists that i am influenced by it gives me a greater understanding of their work but also allows me to view pieces of their work that i would be unable to see due to them being on display the other side of the world.
Jaycee Dugard Interview with Diane Sawyer; Her Future After Surviving Philip Garrido.
She was kept out in the garden of her captor out in sheds or huts in the garden. Despite regular visits from outside agencies and her abductor being on the sex offenders list. Jaycee spent 18 years in captivity.
This is another joseph Fritzl Documentary that i watched as part of my research into his case. This is broken up into five parts but i think I’ve been able to put them altogether in a play list http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFF4D49CAD0875C3A, if you click that link. Here is part one however as it wouldn’t recognise the playlist as a feature video. I found this more interesting than the story of a monster documentary.
Watching these videos really made me question how others in that house hold including lodgers did not realise something was going on. It also made me think about the number of years it must have taken fritzl to build and plan this too as well as the number of door that there were between the house and the basement cell that elizabeth and some of her children were kept in.
a short cnn film with the time line of the fritzl case.
Joseph Fritzl- the story of a monster documentary on sky 2.
This is a really interesting documentary which covers the story of Joseph Fritzl, when the story first broke i was aware of it but unlike what i did with the baby p case i did not follow what happened exactly so this video made up for that and i was able to get a better understanding of this horrific case.
Author, Ken Connelly talks about his parental child abduction case over the three videos we hear about his story.
Ken Connelly is the author of Throwing Stones; parental child abduction through the eyes of a child. This is one of the first cases in United States history to result in a felony conviction for Parental Child Abduction or Parental Kidnapping. Mr. Connelly discusses parental kidnapping and child abduction from the child’s perspective. Often as parents and professionals we overlook the child’s feelings while making our case as an adult and parent over pre and post abduction. Unlike “stranger’ abduction, Parental Kidnapping destroys a child’s basic trust foundation; the family. Ken further shows how Parental Child Abduction/Kidnapping leads to a Parental Alienation Syndrome. This syndrome mimics Stockholm Syndrome in many ways. Many parents who have abducted their children rely on misleading arguments against Parental Alienation Syndrome and that the child is unaware, or settled in their new enviroment; this is absolutley false. For the first time a victim of this crime has come foward to speak out on this CRIME. Mr. Connelly was kidanapped at the age of seven and recovered at the age of eleven. Throwing Stones is the first book written from this unique point of view. Regardless of domestic or international parental child abduction, this video will help the viewer understand the confusion and mistrust a child experiences during this type of crime. Mr. Connelly was kidnapped on October 10, 1980 in Orange, California, and recovered on December 5, 1983 in Bastrop, Texas.
